Doha: The State of Qatar strongly condemned and denounced the Houthi militia's targeting of Makkah with a UAV, emphasizing that any attempt to violate the sanctity of Makkah and the Grand Mosque, which holds immense significance as the Qiblah of Muslims and the holiest place on Earth, represents a disgraceful act of aggression.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the attack has been described as a serious violation of all religious, moral, and humanitarian boundaries, and a blatant provocation of the feelings of over one billion Muslims worldwide.

In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted that the sanctity and security of holy sites, as well as the safety of those visiting them, must not be targeted, threatened, or exploited in conflicts. The ministry warned that actions endangering Makkah and the holy sites represent an extremely dangerous escalation and show disregard for their profound religious and spiritual significance to Muslims globally.

The ministry expressed Qatar's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, extending support for all necessary measures to protect its security and territorial integrity, Islamic holy sites, and pilgrims. Additionally, it conveyed full confidence in the Kingdom's ability to safeguard the security of the Two Holy Mosques and address any threats to their safety.

Reiterating Qatar's firm stance, the ministry categorically rejected the targeting of civilians and holy sites, urging respect for the sanctity of holy sites and calling for their exclusion from the repercussions of conflicts and escalation in the region.
