Riyadh:Saudi Cultural Attach© to the United States and Canada Dr. Tahani Al-Baiz confirmed that Saudi students are maintaining a strong academic presence at leading institutions in the United States and Canada, with approximately 1,545 students enrolled at top universities according to 2026 statistics.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this is a result of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program, which aims to enhance human capital efficiency by providing scholarships to elite global educational institutions. The program's pioneers track targets the top 30 educational institutions worldwide.

Out of the total number of students, 950 are enrolled in US universities classified as pioneer institutions, while about 595 are scholarship recipients at the University of Toronto in Canada. This includes around 325 Saudi medical doctors.

Dr. Al-Baiz highlighted that 449 students, accounting for 47.3% of those at pioneer universities, are pursuing studies in fields such as engineering, computing, natural sciences, and mathematics. Engineering, manufacturing, and construction are the leading areas of study, with 276 students enrolled.

In terms of gender representation, female Saudi students at pioneer universities in the United States total 434, making up 45.7% of the overall student body. Gender parity is particularly evident at the master's level, with 205 female students compared to 209 male students.

Dr. Al-Baiz emphasized that the presence of Saudi students at leading universities in the US and Canada demonstrates the Kingdom's dedication to developing national human capital in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 goals.
