Riyadh:The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) has announced the release of the "Riyadh List of Common Vocabulary in Contemporary Arabic," detailing 5,000 of the most frequently used words in modern Arabic.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the list serves as a valuable linguistic resource for lexicographic studies, Arabic language education, artificial intelligence applications, and Arabic language processing. This initiative is part of KSGAAL's ongoing efforts to develop linguistic resources and datasets.

The list is derived from an extensive linguistic corpus comprising approximately 1.75 billion words from over 2.57 million texts. These texts were sourced from a variety of publications, including newspapers, books, academic theses, peer-reviewed journals, magazines, websites, lectures, seminars, educational curricula, news agencies, and official publications.

Accessible as a digital book through KSGAAL's digital library, the list is also available interactively on the FALAK Linguistic Corpus Platform. This platform offers statistical details and data, enhancing its utility for a wide range of linguistic research and applications.

KSGAAL's efforts to develop and make linguistic resources accessible to researchers and specialists are part of its broader mission to enhance Arabic content, support scientific research, and advance technologies and applications related to the Arabic language.
