King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language Concludes International Conference on Language and Culture

Riyadh:The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) concluded its fifth international conference, which focused on language and culture, on Monday evening.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the two-day event brought together over 55 researchers from 22 countries to explore the intersections between language and culture. Discussions centered on their roles in identity, creativity, global interaction, and digital transformations, as well as language and cultural policies.

Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, KSGAAL Secretary-General, emphasized the close relationship between language and culture, noting its significance in shaping awareness, preserving memory, producing knowledge, and expressing human values and experiences. Al-Washmi also highlighted the richness of the Arabic language and its engagement with cultural, intellectual, and technological transformations.

He further noted the importance of scientific research in promoting the presence of Arabic in the cultural landscape both locally and globally. Al-Washmi expressed gratitude to Minister of Culture and Chairman of KSGAAL's Board of Trustees, Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan, for his support of KSGAAL's initiatives to strengthen the Arabic language's global presence.

The conference attracted more than 400 specialists and interested participants. It featured 10 scientific sessions with 44 research papers covering six main themes: language and cultural identity; language and intercultural interaction; language and intellectual and artistic creativity; language and digital culture; language and cultural policies; and language and prospects for the cultural future.
