Jakarta:Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group Chairman Dr. Muhammad Al-Jasser has commenced an official visit to Indonesia, set to last until October 10. During his stay, he will meet with the Indonesian Minister of Finance and IsDB Governor Prof. Suahasil Nazara, along with several other ministers and senior officials.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the purpose of Dr. Al-Jasser's visit is to launch the IsDB Group Member Country Partnership Strategy for Indonesia, which will span from 2026 to 2030. This strategy is backed by an indicative financing envelope of approximately $2.56 billion. It marks the fourth such strategy between the two parties since 2011, focusing on cooperation in infrastructure, connectivity and resilience, industrial upgrading, health, education, and skills development.
Discussions during the visit will address the progress of IsDB-financed projects and the preparation for future operations in key areas such as health, strategic connectivity, and food security. Additionally, the talks aim to explore collaboration opportunities in Islamic finance, trade finance, private sector development, and knowledge exchange.
The longstanding partnership between Indonesia and the IsDB Group has been in place for over fifty years, with cumulative financing approvals amounting to approximately $7.2 billion for nearly 350 operations.
