Saudi Team Lynx Triumphs at Aramco STEM Racing World Finals

Hanoi:Saudi team Lynx from Dhahran achieved first place at the Aramco STEM Racing World Finals, which took place in Singapore from September 29 to October 7, 2026.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Saudi teams collected a total of three awards during the competition. Lynx not only secured the top position but also won the Team Identity Award. Team Baz from Jeddah earned accolades for the Best Application of Project Management and claimed the Knockout Competition title. They were nominated in over 15 out of 22 categories, finishing among the top 10 of 91 global competitors.

The event, supported by the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), an Aramco initiative, challenges young engineers and scientists to design, build, and optimize functional model racing vehicles, translating theoretical STEM concepts into practical applications.

Ithra Programs Manager Farah Abushullaih remarked that this historic victory comes just five years after Saudi teams first participated, marking a significant milestone in their journey to the global stage.

Ithra plays a crucial role in fostering technical excellence and developing youth capabilities, acting as an incubator for scientific and engineering talent. The Saudi delegation underwent an intensive eight-month training program led by 36 expert mentors, providing them with technical skills and essential soft skills.

The competition journey began with a national selection process in June 2026. From 20 competing teams, Lynx, Baz, Anaq, and Drein emerged as the top four, winning multiple awards at the closing ceremony held at Ithra.

Ithra has announced the launch of the sixth cycle of STEM Racing KSA, with registrations now open and training scheduled to start in December. This ongoing initiative reflects Ithra's commitment to youth empowerment, integrating specialized skill development within a creative ecosystem to inspire innovation and prepare the next generation to address complex global challenges.
