Al-Lith:Wadi Allayb National Park, situated in the Al-Shawaq Center of Al-Lith Governorate in the Makkah Region, offers a unique blend of natural beauty and historical richness.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the park boasts diverse terrain and rock formations, alongside native vegetation such as arak, samar, and salam trees. The historic Aqairib Fort within the park showcases the region's architectural heritage.
The valley stretches from the Sarawat Mountains in the east, cutting through rock formations before reaching the coastal plains and the Red Sea. This landscape, shaped by flash floods over time, supports arak trees that create extensive natural forests, attracting nature enthusiasts and explorers.
Aqairib Fort, a significant historical site in the park, features a two-story stone structure with narrow openings indicative of traditional defensive architecture. It highlights the use of natural terrain for construction and protection, underscoring its cultural importance.
Wadi Allayb National Park is also emerging as a promising site for nature-based tourism. Overseen by the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification, the park offers investment opportunities in activities like camping and mountain hiking, aligning with its natural character.
During the spring, the park becomes a favored spot for beekeepers due to its rich wild plants and seasonal flowers, which provide resources for honey production.
