Manila:Wisconsin Six people, including a child, died on Tuesday night when a small plane crashed after the pilot reported ice accumulating on its wings during a thunderstorm.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the single-engine, six-seat aircraft was en route from Kenosha to Menomonie and crashed shortly before 10 p.m. in a wooded area near Mirror Lake State Park.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) stated that the pilot of the Piper PA-46 reported the ice issue to an air traffic controller at an altitude of 24,000 feet (7,315 meters) and asked to descend to a lower altitude.
The plane then began turning to the right and descending rapidly, with its rate of turn increasing until communication was lost and the aircraft disappeared from radar screens.
