GCC-EU Summit Rescheduled Due to Security Concerns

Riyadh:The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Albudaiwi, announced the rescheduling of the GCC-EU Summit. This decision was made in response to continued threats from the terrorist Houthi militia targeting Saudi Arabia and its civilian infrastructure, which pose a risk to the security and safety of civilians.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the summit was initially planned to take place in Riyadh on October 24, 2026. However, due to the ongoing suspension of flight operations at King Khalid International Airport and to ensure the safety of all participating delegations, the date will be postponed. A new date will be determined through mutual agreement between the GCC and the European Union.

The secretary-general emphasized the commitment of both the GCC and the EU to create the right conditions for the summit. The aim is to further their collaborative efforts across various fields, enhancing growth and prosperity for the nations and peoples of both organizations.
