Accra:Riyadh An official source at the Ministry of Energy reported that air defenses intercepted a drone on Wednesday morning, October 21, 2026, as it attempted to target a facility at Saudi Aramco's Shaybah field in the Eastern Region. The interception resulted in a fire in a contractor's vehicle outside the facility's perimeter, but operations were not affected.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the incident led to the deaths of two residents, one Filipino and one Nepali, and injuries to two others, one Pakistani and one Indian.
