Bahrain: The Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) is hosting the 19th edition of its annual Islamic Banking and Finance Conference in 2024. The event will take place from November 3 to 4, 2024, in the Kingdom of Bahrain, with support from the Central Bank of Bahrain and in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB), represented by the Islamic Development Bank Institute. According to Saudi Press Agency, this conference aims to enhance Islamic finance's capabilities in building a sustainable, efficient, and resilient halal ecosystem within Muslim economies. It is one of the most significant gatherings in the Islamic finance industry, bringing together a select group of scholars, policymakers, and decision-makers to discuss and debate crucial issues affecting the global Islamic finance sector. The conference will feature seven panel discussions focused on strengthening Islamic finance capabilities to develop a sustainable halal system. Topics for di scussion will include leveraging Islamic finance to transition from halal finance to a halal economy, improving supply chains, addressing governance and transparency issues in Islamic finance, and other related subjects.
