The National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, received today, Tuesday, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Ali Bagheri Kani, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad, Muhammad Kazem Al Sadiq, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Bilateral Relations, Muhammad Bahr al-Ulum, and officials from the Iraqi and Iranian sides.
During the meeting, according to a statement by the Chancellery, they reviewed the relations of friendship and cooperation between Iraq and Iran, and ways to develop them to serve the interests of the two peoples and the two neighboring countries.
They also discussed issues and files of common concern, especially border security and the commitment of the two parties to agreements related to this matter, and emphasizing the implementation of the provisions of the security protocol signed between the two countries.
Al-Araji stressed that Al-Sudani government is keen to strengthen relations with neighboring Iran, in all fields.
