Al Baha: Al Baha Municipality participated in the 12th annual World Urban Forum (WUF12) convened by the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) in Egypt, showcasing Saudi Arabia's leading role in achieving sustainable urban development. During its engagement at the event, Al Baha Municipality shed light on the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Kingdom's initiatives in urban development, along with the standards adhered to by the municipality in this regard. According to Saudi Press Agency, Al Baha Region Mayor Dr. Ali bin Mohammad Al-Sawat stated that the municipality highlighted the pioneering and unique experiences of the Kingdom, including Al Baha region, to attain sustainable development goals across various urban sectors. The municipality's participation at WUF12 also emphasized aspects such as comprehensive urban planning, sustainable transportation, community engagement, waste management and recycling, green spaces, and strategies for addressing environmental challenges. Furthermo re, Al Baha Municipality spotlighted Saudi Arabia's endeavors to transform Saudi cities and urban communities into holistic, adaptable, and sustainable environments. The municipality also showcased innovations and local solutions aimed at enhancing the quality of life for city residents and preserving the environment. The municipality's involvement in the forum is an extension of its efforts to bolster its international and regional presence and foster its strategy in urban development, innovation, and sustainability.
