Makkah: Rapid intervention under the Kingdom's urgent care system, part of the Saudi healthcare model, successfully treated an Indian pilgrim suffering from acute kidney failure. A medical team at Al-Noor Specialist Hospital, a member of the Makkah Health Cluster, performed an emergency procedure to insert stents and dilate the ureters.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the patient arrived at the hospital's emergency department with severe pain. Medical examinations and imaging revealed acute kidney failure caused by a blockage in the ureters, leading to serious complications including blood poisoning, a sharp drop in blood pressure and oxygen levels, and elevated kidney function indicators.
The patient, a female, was immediately transferred to the intensive care unit, where the medical team carried out the urgent stenting procedure. She later made a full recovery and was discharged in stable condition.
This case highlights Al-Noor Specialist Hospital's high readiness to manage emergency cases, supported by skilled medical staff and advanced equipment. It also reflects the Ministry of Health's commitment to providing world-class medical services to pilgrims during the Hajj season.
