The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, today, “strongly” denounced the German position issued by its Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, in which she justified the killing of civilians in the Gaza Strip by the Zionist entity.
Al-Sadr said in a letter carried by a delegation from al-Sadr to the German embassy in Iraq regarding the recent statements of its country’s Foreign Minister. “We strongly denounce and condemn the fanatical German position expressed by its Foreign Minister, which justifies or permits the usurping Zionist entity to bomb civilians under any pretext.”
He explained that “this statement is a clear and obvious incitement to the terrorist acts pursued by the Zionist entity.”
He called on the German Foreign Minister to “apologize and retract her statements supporting the killing of civilians and mass killings against Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Syria,” expressing his hope that “these statements are not in line with the official German position.”
Baerbock had said in a spe
ech before her country’s parliament on the occasion of the first anniversary of the war on Gaza on October 7 of last year that the right to self-defense “does not mean attacking terrorists, but rather destroying them.
