Riyadh: Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi Monday received Arab Republic of Egypt Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Dr. Badr Abdelatty at the GCC General Secretariat in Riyadh. The two diplomats discussed the Iranian aggression against the GCC states, which has targeted civilians and infrastructure. They also discussed the latest regional developments.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Abdelatty reaffirmed the Arab Republic of Egypt's supportive stance toward the GCC states in the face of these unjustified and illegal attacks. He emphasized Egypt's support for all measures taken by the GCC states to protect their sovereignty, security, and stability.
The secretary-general renewed his appreciation to the leadership of the brotherly Arab Republic of Egypt for its unwavering support and for standing alongside the GCC states against these brutal aggressions.
Both officials stressed the need for an immediate halt to Iranian military actions against the GCC states and for an end to all forms of escalation that could undermine regional security and stability. They also emphasized the importance of respecting the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations to preserve states' sovereignty and territorial integrity and safeguard the region's security and stability.
