Alshebeili: Saudi Arabia’s Presidency of Global Audit Committee Center Reflects Global Standing in Governance

Washington: CEO of the Saudi Authority of Internal Auditors Abdullah Saleh Alshebeili affirmed that his appointment as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Global Audit Committee Center in Washington, D.C., reflects the Kingdom's significant progress in governance and its active role on both local and international stages.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Alshebeili, whose appointment was made by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), stated that this achievement is a gain for the Kingdom. He emphasized that it embodies international confidence in Saudi national competencies and their ability to contribute effectively to global professional bodies. His role as chairman will allow him to enhance international cooperation, exchange expertise, and promote initiatives aimed at developing the work of audit committees worldwide.

He affirmed his commitment to achieving the strategic objectives of the center and adopting global best practices to enhance the efficiency and quality of audit committee performance.

The Global Audit Committee Center is the first center of its kind, serving as an international reference for regulating audit committee work and related legislation, and providing members with resources to perform their roles effectively within the corporate governance system.
