Arab League Denounces Al-Aqsa Mosque Intrusions by Extremist Settlers

Jeddah: The Arab League strongly condemned the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by extremist settlers under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, as well as the accompanying provocative practices and violations that desecrate the holy site. It said the actions constitute a dangerous escalation and a provocation of Muslim sentiments worldwide.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Arab League affirmed that these practices represent a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law. It also described them as a breach of the historical and legal status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque, which, with its entire area of 144 dunums, is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims.

The General Secretariat also expressed deep concern over the continued restrictions imposed by Israeli occupation authorities on worshippers' access to Al-Aqsa Mosque, the targeting of employees of the Islamic Waqf Department and mosque guards, and the escalation of expulsion and arrest policies. It stressed that these measures are part of attempts to impose a new reality and alter the existing historical and legal status of the holy city and its sacred sites.
