Arab Parliament Condemns Storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by 2 Israeli Occupation Ministers

The Arab Parliament has condemned the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by two ministers from the Israeli occupation government and hundreds of extremist settlers under the protection of the occupation forces, and the prevention of Palestinian worshipers from entering the mosque. In a statement today, the pan-Arab legislature described the act as a flagrant violation of the historical and legal status of Jerusalem and its holy sites, and a breach of international laws that prohibit such provocative actions in sacred places. The Cairo-based Arab Parliament added that such actions are part of the Israeli occupation's ongoing attempts to change the Arab and Islamic identity of occupied Jerusalem, warning of their grave consequences on efforts to establish peace and stability in the region and achieve a ceasefire in Gaza. The Arab Parliament called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and exercise pressure on the Israeli occupation government to stop these violations, demanding that the Palestinian people and their holy sites be given international protection. It also called for arriving at a just, lasting, and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause that guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with its capital in east Jerusalem.
