Baghdad Operations Command forces arrested a number of suspects in various cases in the capital, Baghdad.

The Command stated in a statement: “The security forces, represented by the (Fifth) Federal Police Division, carried out a number of security practices and patrols within the area of responsibility east of Baghdad, which resulted in the arrest of 15 suspects, including one accused of smuggling “oil derivatives” and confiscating the vehicle he was driving, and others involved in quarrels and violators of the terms and conditions of the Residence and Nationality Department, in addition to seizing a number of unlicensed weapons and ammunition, within the areas of (Al-Shaab/Al-Bustan neighborhood, Ur neighborhood, Tariq neighborhood, Al-Talabiya) next to Al-Rusafa, where the suspects and the seized materials were handed over to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures against them.”

3 paramedics killed in Israeli raid targeting fire truck in southern Lebanon

Three paramedics were killed and two others were injured in an Israeli raid that targeted a fire truck belonging to the Civil Defense in southern Lebanon today, Saturday. The official Lebanese National News Agency said, “An Israeli raid targeted a fire truck belonging to the Lebanese Civil Defense in the town of Froun in the south of the country, which led to the death and injury of a number of members of the fire truck crew.

For its part, the Public Health Emergency Operations Center, affiliated with the Lebanese Ministry of Health, said in a statement: “The initial toll of the Israeli enemy targeting a team affiliated with the Civil Defense that was extinguishing fires sparked by the recent Israeli raids in the town of Froun, is the martyrdom of 3 paramedics and the injury of 2 others, one of whom is in critical condition.”

The Operations Center added in its statement: “We condemn this blatant Israeli attack that targeted a team in an official apparatus affiliated with the Lebanese state, noting that it i
s the second of its kind against an ambulance team in less than 12 hours.”

It added: “The insistence of the Israeli enemy on continuing such attacks prohibited by international law is nothing but confirmation of its barbarism and aggressive intentions that leave no room for the accomplishment of humanitarian tasks that are usually made possible in the fiercest and most brutal wars.”

United States: The arrest of a Pakistani on charges of planning to carry out an attack in New York

The US Department of Justice announced that a Pakistani citizen living in Canada was arrested on Wednesday and charged with planning to carry out an attack in New York City in support of ISIS.

Mohammed Shahzeb Khan (20 years old) was accused of planning a random shooting at a Jewish center in Brooklyn on or about October 7, 2024, about a year after the / Al-Aqsa Flood / operation carried out by Hamas.

Attorney General Merrick Garland said that Khan aimed to kill “as many Jews as possible.”

According to the indictment, Khan tried to travel from Canada to the United States, where he intended to use automatic and semi-automatic weapons to carry out the attack.

He was arrested in Canada, just 19 kilometers from the US border.

The indictment alleges that Khan told two law enforcement officers, whose identities he did not know, about his plans to create a ‘real-world offline cell’ of ISIS supporters to carry out an attack.

He instructed them to obtain AR-15 assault rifles, ammunition and other materials to ca
rry out the attacks, and identified specific locations where the attacks would take place.

Prosecutors said Khan targeted New York City because it ‘has the largest Jewish population in America.’

Khan faces up to 20 years in prison.

A typhoon hits southern China, causing casualties and material losses

Authorities said that a typhoon killed two people and injured at least 92 others on Hainan Island in southern China, where heavy rains and winds caused power outages to more than 800,000 homes.

Typhoon “Yagi” is currently heading to northern Vietnam via the Gulf of Tonkin on Saturday, where Vietnamese authorities described it as “one of the strongest typhoons in the region over the past decade.”

The typhoon hit Wenchang City in Hainan on Friday afternoon, with wind speeds reaching about 245 kilometers per hour (152 miles per hour) near its center.

The National Meteorological Administration in China indicated that “Yagi” was the strongest autumn typhoon to hit China.
