Manama, July 6 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain has welcomed the agreement to establish the armistice in the brotherly Republic of Yemen on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, and the emphasis of the Yemeni parties in the Military Coordination Committee in its meeting in Amman to renew their commitment to stop all military operations inside and outside Yemen, build confidence and provide an environment conducive to dialogue and improving the living and humanitarian conditions.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised the efforts of the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, in strengthening the commitment to the truce in force since its renewal for two additional months in June, in line with the initiative of the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced in March 2021 to end the crisis in Yemen through a comprehensive peace settlement, calling for opening Taiz road to facilitate the movement of thousands of civilians on this vital crossing.

The Ministry expressed its hope that the truce would contribute to ending the war and supporting efforts to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution to the Yemeni crisis in accordance with the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive National Dialogue Conference and Security Council Resolution No. 2216, in a manner that meets the aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people for unity, security, peace and stability, and economic and social progress.
