Beijing: The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) announced today that Beijing has been designated as the UNESCO-UIA World Capital of Architecture for 2029, jointly with the International Union of Architects (UIA).

According to Saudi Press Agency, the designation was made upon the recommendation of the Joint Committee for the World Capital of Architecture. This decision recognizes Beijing's ability to blend its rich architectural heritage with an innovative vision for sustainable urban development.
