Blue Rock Thrush Migrating Bird Spotted in Arar Valley Dam

The Blue Rock Thrush, a migratory bird that passes through the Northern Border Region in small numbers during the migration season, has been spotted near the Arar Valley Dam.

The president of the Aman Environmental Society in the Northern Borders Region, Nasser Rashid Al-Majlid, explained that the Blue Rock thrush is a rare migratory bird in the region. It migrates in very small numbers, primarily during the months of September and October. The bird gets its name from the deep blue colour of the male.

Al-Majlad also pointed out that the Northern Border Region is one of the critical routes for migratory birds annually, highlighting the significant environmental and cultural roles of migratory birds and their significant impact in providing environmental services that benefit natural ecosystems and human communities.

He also urged the public to protect migratory birds from excessive hunting and to avoid disrupting the ecosystem. He added that the society has launched environmental initiatives to raise awaren
ess about the importance of preserving the environment in all its forms.
