Riyadh: The General Directorate of Civil Defense participated in events across various regions of the Kingdom for World Drowning Prevention Day, observed annually on July 25. The awareness activities included exhibitions showcasing the tasks and preparedness of water rescue teams. They also highlighted the importance of staying safe around bodies of water, supervising children, and avoiding swimming in unauthorized or hazardous areas to enhance awareness of drowning risks and promote a culture of safety and prevention.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the events aimed to educate the public about the critical measures needed to prevent drowning incidents. The exhibitions served as a platform to demonstrate the capabilities and readiness of the Civil Defense teams in handling water-related emergencies. This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to reduce drowning incidents and ensure public safety in and around water bodies.
