Dammam Corniche Undergoing Major Redevelopment to Become Premier Coastal Destination

Dammam: The Eastern Region Municipality has launched a comprehensive redevelopment project for the Dammam Corniche, aiming to transform it into a premier coastal destination with a modern, distinctive identity. The project spans 3.6 kilometers along the city's eastern coastline-from the King Abdullah Cultural Center to the beginning of Corniche Street in the Al-Hamra district-and covers more than 610,000 square meters. It seeks to enhance the quality of life and provide a vibrant seaside experience for residents and visitors alike.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the redeveloped corniche will feature modern architectural designs, expansive pedestrian walkways, shaded seating areas, and dedicated paths for sports and recreation. Integrated landscaping, advanced lighting, and contemporary urban furnishings will contribute to a cohesive and attractive environment.

As part of its multi-phase implementation, the project includes infrastructure upgrades, the rehabilitation of public squares, and the introduction of new services and facilities tailored to the needs of diverse users. A strong focus has been placed on inclusivity, with areas designed for families, accessible facilities for individuals with disabilities and the elderly, and flexible venues for public events and cultural activities throughout the year.

This initiative is part of the municipality's broader strategy to redesign the region's waterfronts in a way that reflects the unique eastern coastal character. It aims to embody the spirit of Dammam through dynamic open spaces and community-oriented development, aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to create livable, sustainable, and attractive urban environments across the Kingdom.
