Darah Launches Program to Publish Complete Works of Saudi Historians

Accra:King Abdulaziz Public Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) CEO Turki bin Mohammed Al-Shuwaier announced the launch of a new program aimed at compiling and publishing the complete works of pioneering Saudi historians. The initiative was inaugurated at a ceremony under the patronage of Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Darah.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this scholarly initiative seeks to enhance access to the intellectual legacy of Saudi historians by bringing their works together in comprehensive editions. Prince Faisal's support and guidance have been instrumental throughout the program's development, emphasizing his dedication to projects that preserve Saudi Arabia's historical heritage and present it to future generations.

Turki bin Mohammed Al-Shuwaier highlighted the program's role in establishing authoritative scholarly references that collect each historian's contributions in a single compilation. This approach allows researchers to study the historians' works in context and trace the evolution of their perspectives and methodologies. He noted that many historical works are currently scattered across various sources, making them difficult to access comprehensively. The program addresses this challenge by providing organized scholarly materials that support academic research and expand the study of Saudi Arabian and Arabian Peninsula history.
