Draw for World Fire and Rescue Sport Championship Set for October 27

Riyadh: Riyadh will host on Monday, October 27, the official drawing ceremony for the World Fire and Rescue Sport Championship, organized under the umbrella of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers (ISFFR) and jointly coordinated by the General Directorate of Civil Defense and ISFFR, with the participation of 21 countries.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the drawing ceremony will be held at the organizing committee’s headquarters in Riyadh in the presence of representatives of the ISFFR, heads of the participating delegations, and international referees in preparation for the official competitions, which begin on Tuesday, October 28.

The draw will be conducted in accordance with ISFFR regulations to ensure fairness and equal opportunity among the participating national teams. The results will determine the order of participation in the individual and team events, as well as the official competition schedule.

The championship includes four main disciplines: the hook ladder climb,
the 100-meter obstacle course, the 4×100-meter relay, and the firefighting contest.

Hosting this world championship reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its leading position in civil defense and public safety, develop the skills and readiness of firefighters and rescuers, and showcase their professional and physical capabilities on the international stage. It also highlights the Kingdom’s commitment to expanding international cooperation and exchanging expertise in this vital field.

The championship is expected to see broad international participation, with teams from Asia, Europe, and Africa, reflecting international confidence in the Kingdom’s ability to organize specialized sporting events in line with the highest technical and organizational standards.
