Riyadh: The Education and Training Evaluation Commission, in integration with the Ministry of Education, launched the 'NAFS' National Assessments application for the fifth consecutive year across all primary, intermediate, and early childhood schools in Saudi Arabia from April 5 to 23, aiming to measure and improve student and school performance; evaluate the quality of educational outcomes; and promote positive competition among schools and education departments, in addition to measuring performance indicators within the Human Capability Development Program.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this year's assessments are being implemented in public, private, and international schools across all regions and cities of the Kingdom, with the participation of more than 1.5 million male and female students in grades 3 and 6 of primary school and grade 3 of intermediate school, covering more than 28,000 schools.
The assessments target reading and mathematics for grade 3 primary students and reading, mathematics, and science for grade 6 primary and grade 3 intermediate students.
The assessments are significant as their results help measure how well students are doing in school and are connected to how schools are evaluated, allowing for comparisons between different schools and education departments.
They also support the analysis of student learning outcomes and identification of influencing factors, in addition to measuring national assessment indicators within the Human Capability Development Program.
