Environment Minister Launches Campaign to Encourage Daily Date Consumption

Riyadh: Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Palms and Dates Abdulrahman Alfadley today launched a campaign to encourage daily date consumption at the ministry's headquarters in Riyadh.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative was launched by the National Center for Palms and Dates with the goal of promoting the use of dates in everyday meals and beverages. The campaign aims to highlight dates as a natural sweetener and emphasize their role as a healthy dietary choice, reinforcing their significance in Saudi culture and identity.

The center explained that the campaign's objective is to raise awareness of the nutritional value of dates, encouraging their inclusion in daily diets. This will be achieved through a variety of initiatives targeting different segments of society. The campaign also seeks to broaden the use of Saudi dates in meals and daily consumption.

Furthermore, the center stated that the campaign will involve engaging restaurants, caf©s, and bakeries to develop and offer products and dishes made with dates. It will also include the launch of digital platforms featuring meals, beverages, and baked goods sweetened with dates. These platforms aim to showcase innovative uses of Saudi dates and encourage their wider adoption among young people and the broader community.
