Environment Ministry Conducts Extensive Market Inspections in Q3 2026

Jakarta:The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture conducted 26,118 inspection rounds across the Kingdom's public utility markets during the third quarter of 2026. These inspections targeted produce, livestock, and meat markets, as well as slaughterhouses, to ensure food safety and supply stability.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the operations increased significantly over the quarter, beginning with 3,729 rounds in July, which resulted in 335 violations and 571 warnings. By August, the number of inspections rose to 12,220, and in September, inspections reached 10,169 across 17,857 facilities, with 1,165 inspectors involved in the process.

The ministry highlighted stable supplies supported by high self-sufficiency levels in various commodities, including dates at 127%, dairy at 120%, eggs at 105%, and vegetables at 82%. The ministry reiterated its dedication to continuous field oversight as part of its efforts to safeguard food security under the framework of Saudi Vision 2030.
