Turaif: The European turtle dove has been spotted in Turaif Governorate, Northern Borders Region, along its annual migration route. This region serves as a key stopover for migratory birds due to its geographic position and environmental diversity.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the turtle dove spends summer in Europe and parts of Asia before migrating south toward Africa in autumn through the Arabian Peninsula. Its arrival signals the start of the migration seasons and holds special significance among hunters and wildlife enthusiasts.

Chairman of the Aman Environmental Association in Northern Borders Region, Nasser Al-Majlad, noted that recording this species confirms the health of the region's ecosystem and reflects its ongoing biodiversity. He added that migratory birds assist in seed dispersal and foster biological balance.
