Ottawa: The first round of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Global Affairs Canada took place yesterday in Ottawa.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Saudi delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Dr. Saud Al-Sati, while the Canadian side was headed by Global Affairs Canada's Assistant Deputy Minister for Europe, Arctic, Middle East, and Maghreb Alexandre L©vªque.

The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and involved an exchange of views on several regional and international issues of mutual interest.
