Riyadh: The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) participated virtually in the 42nd meeting of the UN High-Level Group on Partnership, Coordination, and Capacity Building in Statistics for the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda (HLG-PCCB), which brought together heads of statistical offices alongside representatives from regional and international member organizations.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the session formed part of the preparations for the sixth UN World Data Forum, scheduled to be held in Riyadh from November 9 to 12, 2026. Discussions focused on the forum's general program, hosting arrangements, and global initiatives concerning data governance, development financing, and statistical capacity building.
GASTAT President Fahad Al-Dossari affirmed steady progress in hosting preparations and highlighted ongoing coordination with the United Nations Statistics Division.
As one of the most prominent international platforms for sustainable development, the upcoming UN World Data Forum will gather leaders from governments, the private sector, and civil society to discuss the future of statistical data, underscoring global confidence in the Kingdom's capabilities.
