Riyadh: General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) President Fahad Al-Dossari and Sultanate of Oman’s National Center for Statistics and Information CEO Dr. Khalifa Al Barwani have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation and develop statistical work between the two entities.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Dossari emphasized that the memorandum is a continuation of the Kingdom’s efforts to strengthen regional and international statistical partnerships. This initiative aligns with the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to enhance Gulf integration in the statistical field. He highlighted that the MoU underscores the robust brotherly relations between Saudi Arabia and Oman and their shared commitment to advancing statistical work to aid decision-makers and support sustainable development plans.
Dr. Khalifa Al Barwani noted that the MoU is a significant step toward creating an integrated Gulf statistical ecosystem, which will facilitate the production of accurate and reliab
le data to support decision-makers. He mentioned that the collaboration with GASTAT would expand opportunities for exchanging expertise and developing national competencies, serving the mutual interests of both nations.
