Riyadh: General Court of Audit (GCA) President Dr. Hussam bin Abdulmohsen Al-Anqari, who also chairs the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) Steering Committee for Cooperation with the Donor Community, engaged in a consultative meeting with Eng. Mohammed Alsaati, special advisor to the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) president, at the GCA headquarters in Riyadh. According to Saudi Press Agency, the U.S. Comptroller General, Government Accountability Office (GAO) head, and vice chairman of the INTOSAI Steering Committee Gene Dodaro also attended the meeting. The discussion primarily focused on exploring collaboration opportunities between INTOSAI's Steering Committee and the IsDB, a donor entity led by the World Bank. The attendees examined methods to enhance the role of donors by supporting initiatives that aim to strengthen the capacities of supreme audit institutions in developing countries. This initiative is aligned with the committee's efforts and priorities of INTOSAI an d donor entities. Dr. Al-Anqari underscored the notable successes from INTOSAI's collaboration with donor entities, highlighting the Steering Committee's significant role in empowering supreme audit institutions in developing countries. He stressed the importance of enhancing performance through knowledge exchange among these institutions and adopting global best practices, which are crucial for strengthening their capacity to ensure accountability in public financial management.
