Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi held a telephone call today with High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas. During the call, they discussed the latest preparations for the second summit between the leaders of the GCC states and the leaders of the EU member states, alongside related topics.

According to Saudi Press Agency, they also reviewed progress in implementing the outcomes of the first GCC-EU Summit and the mechanisms for their execution, contributing to the bolstering of strategic relations between the GCC and the EU. Both sides expressed their anticipation for convening the second GCC-EU Summit, highlighting it as a significant strategic milestone to advance the partnership journey between the GCC and the EU.

Furthermore, both sides emphasized the importance of continuing joint work and building upon the results and initiatives accomplished since the first summit to cement cooperation across various priority fields. They pointed out that these efforts reflect the depth of historical ties between the GCC and the EU, fostering development and prosperity for their peoples while contributing to security, stability, and peace regionally and internationally.
