Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi received a phone call today from Lebanon's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Rajji, to discuss the latest developments and updates in the region.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the conversation involved exchanging views on current regional and international developments, along with the challenges facing the region. Both leaders emphasized the importance of intensified coordination and joint consultation to enhance security and stability while safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.
The Lebanese foreign minister expressed his country's condemnation of the Iranian attacks targeting GCC states, affirming Lebanon's solidarity with the GCC states in all measures taken to protect their security and stability. He also rejected any actions that would destabilize regional security or threaten the safety of its people.
Albudaiwi reiterated the GCC's firm position in supporting the Lebanese government in all its decisions aimed at ensuring stability and safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He emphasized the GCC's role in contributing to the aspirations of the Lebanese people for security, development, and prosperity.
