German Rider Jana Wargers Wins Final Riyadh Round of Longines Global Champions Tour

Riyadh: Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC) Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Musaed bin Abdulaziz crowned on Saturday the winners of the top positions in the final Riyadh round of the Longines Global Champions Tour and the Global Champions League. German rider Jana Wargers claimed the title of the final Riyadh round after completing the decisive jump-off in 41.71 seconds. Irish rider Denis Lynch, ranked 34th in the world, finished second with a time of 43.66 seconds, while Belgian rider Gilles Thomas took third place with a time of 43.99 seconds.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Gilles Thomas was also crowned the Longines Global Champions Tour overall winner after accumulating 287 points, with Dutch rider Harrie Smolders in second place with 246 points, and Danish rider Andreas Schou in third with 221 points.

Saudi rider Abdullah Al-Sharbatly won the final of the five-star 1.45-meter intermediate category with a time of 53.08 seconds, finishing 0.48 seconds ahead of German rider Pieter Devos. Veteran Swedish rider Henrik von Eckermann secured third place with a time of 53.81 seconds.

The two-star category competitions opened the final day, with French rider Basile Rubio claiming the title of the 1.30-meter intermediate final with a time of 38.75 seconds. Saudi rider Abdullah Ibrahim finished second in 38.91 seconds, while Qatari rider Ghanim Al-Qadi took third place with a time of 42.45 seconds.

In the second round, Saudi rider Waleed Al-Ghamdi claimed the Grand Prix title at 1.40 meters with a time of 60.04 seconds. Ghanim Al-Qadi finished second in 63.79 seconds, while Abdullah Al-Sharbatly took third place with a time of 64.37 seconds.
