Ghana: Ghana has recorded 45 confirmed cases of monkeypox in one month, marking the worst outbreak since 2022. No deaths have been recorded so far, according to the Ghana Health Service.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the service announced today that it has launched an urgent response plan aimed at containing the outbreak. This plan includes measures such as early identification, isolation, and treatment of infected individuals, contact tracing, vaccination of health workers most at risk, and a comprehensive awareness campaign.
Health authorities have indicated that the number of infections could rise in the coming days or weeks. However, they have reassured the public that the mutant strain currently circulating in the country is less dangerous than those prevalent in other regions.
