Hail Region Development Authority Explores Italian Rock Engravings for Cultural Heritage Enhancement

Hail: A team from the Hail Region Development Authority visited the Rock Engravings Natural Reserve of Ceto, Cimbergo, and Paspardo in Italy's Lombardy Region to review leading experiences and expertise and benefit from the reserve's research outcomes in the field of cultural heritage to enhance, develop, and preserve the rock art sites in Hail Region.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the visit included a tour of the nature reserve and rock engraving sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, as well as a presentation on the cultural history of the reserve. The program also featured a visit to the museum within the reserve, which displays numerous cultural and heritage exhibits.

CEO of Hail Region Development Authority Omar Abduljabbar said the visit comes within the authority's efforts, in cooperation with relevant entities, to develop cultural heritage sites in Hail Region as part of national objectives to preserve historical sites and protect and develop cultural heritage locations. He added that this includes a project to upgrade infrastructure, establish crossings and pathways, and create a heritage village in the area surrounding Jabal Umm Sinman in the historic city of Jubbah. The project is being carried out in cooperation with the Quality of Life Program to apply the highest international standards to highlight the value of Jubbah and preserve the site's identity.
