Hajj Season Sees Surge in Calls and Data Usage in Makkah, Reveals CSTC

Makkah: The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CSTC) today revealed the performance of telecommunications networks in Makkah and the holy sites during Eid al-Adha, the tenth of Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 AH. The total number of calls reached 22.3 million, of which 19.1 million were local calls and 3.2 million were international calls.

According to Saudi Press Agency, statistics showed that the average mobile internet speed reached 299 megabits per second, while the average daily data consumption per capita was 1229 megabytes. This figure is equivalent to three times the global average per capita consumption.

The communications and technology sector is equipped to handle high consumption capacity with the highest quality standards. Through technical equipment and human resources, it enables high download speeds, ensuring smooth and seamless transmission of local and international calls made by the Guests of God.
