Riyadh: The heritage tent activities at the Najran Summer 2026 Festival, organized by Najran Municipality, concluded yesterday with an auction of traditional janbiya daggers, which attracted strong interest from visitors and enthusiasts of traditional heritage.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the 12-day event welcomed more than 10,000 visitors, reflecting the strong public interest in the region's rich cultural and heritage traditions. Najran Municipality Spokesperson Abdullah Al-Fadel highlighted that the heritage tent featured broad participation from artisans and families working in the cottage industry. The event showcased a wide range of heritage displays, including handicrafts, leatherworking, blacksmithing, palm-frond products, traditional janbiya making, a heritage museum, traditional cuisine, Najrani attire, antique women's silver jewelry, traditional cooking utensils, a classic car exhibition, artistic installations, and a section offering traditional food products, most notably locally produced ghee.

He added that the tent also included a traditional gathering area inspired by the upper reception rooms of mud-brick homes to welcome guests, offering an experience that reflects Najran's renowned hospitality and the authenticity of the region's traditional architecture.
