Riyadh, The Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve Development Authority removed over 240,000 bags of waste during the first half of 2024 as part of its plan to clean up trash in the Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve and King Khalid Royal Reserve. The removed waste included metal and plastic cans, wood, and other materials that spoil the beauty of the natural environment. The authority stated that these efforts are part of its commitment to protecting the environment and natural habitats in the reserves. It is working to remove this waste because it causes environmental pollution and poses a threat to the natural surroundings. This is in an effort to achieve positive results that will help increase vegetation cover, improve air quality, and enhance biodiversity in the reserves. The authority confirmed that it is continuing its efforts to preserve the environment and protect it from the dangers of environmental pollution caused by littering, which has harmful effects on plants and wildlife. It emp hasized the importance of raising environmental awareness to encourage the community to take responsibility for preserving the environment for future generations. This, in turn, contributes to achieving the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals to improve the quality of life through a sustainable natural environment. The Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Royal Reserve Development Authority has launched two seasons of its awareness campaign with the slogan "This is Your Land" to raise environmental awareness and promote best practices for maintaining a sustainable environment for future generations. The campaigns have been widely promoted on social media, during Environment Week, and in local community schools. Source: Saudi Press Agency
