Riyadh: Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Royal Nature Reserve Development Authority marked the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, observed annually on September 16, by publishing awareness messages on its official platforms highlighting the importance of adopting sustainable practices and strengthening efforts to protect the environment and conserve natural resources.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the authority emphasized that every tree planted and every sustainable practice adopted is a step towards protecting the planet. The authority stressed the importance of responsible environmental practices in supporting the sustainability of natural ecosystems.

The occasion highlights the ozone layer's vital role in protecting the Earth from harmful ultraviolet radiation and the implications of its depletion for human health and ecological balance, including its effects on organisms and agriculture.
