Riyadh: The Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve Development Authority marked World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought, observed annually on June 17, by highlighting its ongoing efforts to restore ecosystems through various programs. These include expanding green spaces, enhancing wildlife habitats, and implementing targeted grazing management plans to protect and regenerate natural vegetation.



According to Saudi Press Agency, the authority adopts innovative agricultural practices that emphasize soil conservation and efficient water use, thereby increasing the land’s resilience to drought and improving its long-term productivity and sustainability.



As part of its community outreach, the authority regularly organizes workshops and educational seminars to promote public awareness of environmental preservation, emphasizing that engaging local communities and supporting entrepreneurial initiatives are central to its environmental sustainability strategy.



In its message on this occasion, the authority reaffirmed that restoring land vitality and expanding vegetation cover are urgent priorities in the face of accelerating environmental challenges. It emphasized the need for coordinated and collective efforts to advance impactful initiatives that foster a thriving and sustainable environment, in alignment with the goals of the Saudi Green Initiative.
