Al-Moghedi praised Saudi Arabia’s generous support of the coalition, which includes funding initiatives that support strategic projects for member states. He referred to training programs supported by the Saudi government that enhance the capabilities of security, military, and civil agencies in member
states impacted by terrorism, noting that these programs contribute significantly to building their capacity. He also reviewed the coalition’s Sahel Program, launched to support stability in the region by providing essential support to member states and countering the spread of terrorism. The IMCTC secretary general stressed the importance of ongoing cooperation in various fields to ensure regional stability, which benefits Nigeria’s neighbouring countries and supports them in their fight against terrorism.
At the end of the meeting, Al-Moghedi and his accompanying delegation toured the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC), Nigeria’s primary entity dedicated to counter-terrorism efforts. During the visit, the delegates met with NCTC Director Major General Adamu Garba Laka to have a firsthand look at the center’s resources, get acquainted with its functions and operational mechanisms, and discuss potential aspects for collaboration.
