Jeddah: Participants from 19 countries are continuing intensive training camps at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah ahead of the third International Nuclear Science Olympiad (INSO 2026), in an atmosphere that combines academic competition with cultural exchange.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Chairman of the INSO 2026 Supervisory Committee Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Besher stated that the training camps are a key component of the Olympiad's scientific program, designed to enhance participants' readiness and strengthen their ability to tackle advanced scientific problems. He added that the camps help participants apply theoretical knowledge to practical applications related to nuclear science and technology and their peaceful uses.

He noted that the training program has been designed around specialized scientific tracks combining theoretical lectures, practical training, and simulation exercises. The program develops participants' analytical, reasoning, research, and problem-solving skills while preparing them for the Olympiad's examinations and assessment criteria.

Al-Besher said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's hosting of the international scientific event reflects the importance it places on developing human capital and nurturing gifted talent. He added that it reinforces the Kingdom's position as a hub for knowledge and innovation and a platform for attracting young scientific talent from around the world.

The training camps include scientific sessions, practical exercises, and specialized reviews covering a range of nuclear science topics, alongside activities that strengthen critical thinking and scientific communication skills and enhance participants' ability to apply their knowledge to address scientific challenges efficiently and accurately.
