International Conference on Two-State Solution Convened at a Critical Moment amid Israel’s Ongoing War on Gaza, Qatari Foreign Minister Says

Riyadh: Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani stated today that the International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Question and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution is taking place at a critical moment for the region, as Israel has been waging a war on the Gaza Strip for two years, resulting in a humanitarian crisis affecting over two million people, the majority of whom are women and children.

According to Saudi Press Agency, in Qatar's address to the conference, Sheikh Mohammed described the event as an opportunity to address one of the oldest peace and security issues, extending his appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for chairing the conference in partnership with the French Republic.

The foreign minister noted that Qatar's mediation efforts, carried out in collaboration with the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United States, have yielded results, including the delivery of humanitarian aid and the release of hundreds of detainees and prisoners from both sides.

He reaffirmed his country's stance in support of a resolution to the Palestinian issue based on international law and UN resolutions, reiterating that the two-state solution remains the viable path to ending the conflict and achieving a comprehensive peace.
