Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Cairo and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States Qahtaan Taha Khalaf, met with Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat, at the ministry’s headquarters in the new administrative capital.
The Ministry stated in a statement: “The Minister began the meeting by congratulating the ambassador on his assumption of his position as Ambassador of Iraq in Cairo.
The two parties discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields, including the exchange of expertise in development projects and urban development.”
The two sides also stressed the importance of completing the files and memoranda of understanding in preparation for holding the Iraqi-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee, headed by the prime ministers of the two countries, early next year.
In the context of the conversation, Ambassador Qahtaan Taha Khalaf stressed Iraq’s desire to benefit from the pioneering Egyptian ex
perience in the fields of infrastructure and housing, calling for enhancing the participation of Egyptian contracting companies in implementing development projects in Iraq.
The Ambassador pointed out that economic and development cooperation between the two countries is a priority to achieve the common interests of both Iraq and Egypt.
