Riyadh: The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) organized a high-level event Wednesday to discuss innovative solutions for building sustainable and resilient livestock production systems for improved livelihood and climate action. The event took place on the sidelines of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Azerbaijan, with the participation of international organizations working on climate finance solutions and adaptation.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the event spotlighted the IsDB Africa Livestock Resilience Program, which addresses the numerous challenges facing the livestock sector in the African continent. The program supports and funds activities throughout the value chain to build sustainable livestock systems for improved livelihoods and climate action. Discussions also centered around transforming agricultural food systems and addressing climate finance systems, with a focus on opportunities, challenges, scalable t
echnologies, international partnerships, and the roles of the private sector.
